Stock Market Winning Streak

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/06/your-money/a-stock-market-winning-streak-has-drawn-few-cheers.html?_r=0

Since the great recession of 2008 stock market prices have been very low, which has been reflected on the poor state of the economy. However in current years it has been picking up. So much so that the stock market prices from the previous year (2012)  has closed in positive territory for the calendar year according to the Standard & Poor’s 500-stock index. Although this improvement has not been widely celebrated or even acknowledged, the trend is ramping up and hopefully will stay in affect for a long time.

  1. I enjoyed the comparison made between the current state of the stock market and Cal Ripken Jr's consecutive game record. It took awhile for fans to start to notice something good was happening, and we need to start realizing that the stock market is heading in the right direction. This article shows that we have an improving economy and that is something to be proud of.
