Nations Agree on Need to Shrink Trade Imbalances

The talk between twenty nations is to try to cut trade deficits and surpluses to bring trade balances closer. The hope is that if trade balances from twenty of the biggest economies in the world are less varied it could prevent financial issues in the future.

  1. Maybe if there is greater investment in research and development, nations can focus on strengthening their domestic production and create jobs for their labor force. By creating a greater consumer appeal for domestic products, nations can lower their imports and focus on exports.
