China manufacturing activity at 11-month high in March

This article talks about an increase in China's manufacturing which indicates that an economic recovery was continuing. China's economy is recovering out of its worst downturn in 13 years. The purchasing managers index (PMI) was at 50.9 in march from 50.1 in February , any point above 50 indicates that an expansion is taking place.

The increase in demand from domestic consumers has helped this increase in manufacturing of goods and services. The improving global economic conditions have also helped china see this increase. March is considered a key month to assess manufacturing because many factories were closed during the lunar new year holiday which was in January and February. At the same time the demand from Europe and the US has started to lose momentum in the recent months.
