The unemployment rate in Washington DC has remained at a constant 8.6%, staying constant from January to February. There is a net increase of 3,300 jobs.
Although, the national unemployment rate decreased a little to 7.7% in February from 7.9% in January. The Labor Department said the unemployment rate rose in 12 states, remained consistent in 16 states, and fell in 22. According to the DC Mayor, Vincent Gray, these latest figures show that the private sector economy is growing, but the federal government job cuts remain a concern.
The drop in unemployment will soon spread to all the other states who did not see a drop in unemployment. This is a sign of good things to come. With an increase in jobs and a decrease in unemployment, the U.S citizens will be able to have a greater income. Hopefully the decrease in unemployment will spread quickly.
