Battle Looms Over Tax Breaks, Spending Cuts
With the Republican party regaining many seats after this past weeks elections, it has set up a conflict between what the Democratic president hopes to accomplish and what the House's intentions are. The Republican's wish to cut taxes, while Obama is continuing to push large government spending to get the country out of this recession.

I think the politicians need to work on cutting spending and the idea of a 5% cut sounds good to many people.Federal employees and their unions have been protected for too long. Bureaucrats increase spending to prevent losing their budgets and too many Federal employees become safe from being fired.
