We've entered the next phase of the men's fashion revolution

In this article it discussed how men have started to take care of their appearance and that there has been a huge increase in online shopping done by males. Men are becoming more educated when it comes to styles and fashion. Certain companies such as Combatant Gentlemen have began to experiment with new products in order to satisfy the demand of customers. An example of this is a suit that was designed out of 98% wool and 2% elastine which makes it easier to move in.
Even more so, the article discussed how men are becoming more educated on how to shop online smartly. They are looking for deals through websites such as retailmenot.com in order to make a smart and well thought out purchase.
With this increase in demand, consumers are expecting more out of companies as well. Many people are expecting the same service from small retailers as they would from companies such as amazon. The article gave an example of how a customer was expecting a package he ordered on a Sunday to arrive the next day from across the world. While companies have the ability to meet some of the consumer’s demands, it is not cheap to meet them. With this increase in demand, prices should definitely rise as a result. Also, more firms could enter the industry once they see that there is a demand for men’s clothing.
This article definitely interested me because I can see a lot of concepts from class that appear. I’m very interested to see how exchange rates work online and how it works due to the Internet having no borders or boundaries. Also now that males are beginning to shop online more, they are able to purchase products from all around the world, which could definitely change a countries trade balance.

  1. I wonder if this increase of interest in men's fashion and products will even out the price difference that we experience between men and women's products due to a more equal market and demand.
