Haiti Aid

Governments have pledged over 5.3 billion dollars to the immediate reconstruction of Haiti, out pledging the UN's request for 4 billion dollars in a strong sign of support for Haiti. The aid is intended to help the Haitian government rebuild infrastructure and jobs around the country while simultaneously providing immediate relief to those in need. There is a strong emphasis in the article of the need to work with instead of around Haiti's government.

  1. It is great to see that the world is giving Haiti help now. As it is said in the article, "The first part of the plan is an 18-month project focusing on rebuilding destroyed infrastructure, government buildings, hospitals and schools - which is expected to cost almost $4bn." As one of the poorest country in the world, Haiti has experienced a lack of capital compared to its fast increasing population. After this earth quake, the need of capital is quite urgent. This measure will have a great help on its capital per worker and will be a great improve to its GDP. Also, the aid on human capital will also give rise to the labor efficiency. I believe that under the help of the international aid, Haiti will come out to a much better economic status.
