Apple accused of worker violations in Chinese factories by labor rights group

This discusses the allegations that have been pinned on Apple over their suspected violation of workers rights. Any kind of headline involving Apple is huge because of their enormous stake in the international economy. Albergotti points out the fact that Apple is leaps and bounds in terms of size compared to any of their competitor, he points out the fact that the new model of the iPhone sold 12 million more of them then the next closest. If Apple is ever to get in big trouble, than the entire technology sector of the economy is going to change drastically. If Apple is to avoid that, then they need to get in accordance with the Chinese labor laws which may cause an initial fuss but the problems that would be avoided are much more pressing.

  1. It seems like this is not the first time Apple has been accused of this kind of allegation. With the new iPhone 11 being released, it's sad to see these allegations being pushed to the side. It's worse that even after reading this most people wont hesitate to buy the new iPhone, we need to demand more information and make sure that we do our part to stopping these unfair labor practices.

  2. It seems that when certain companies (The largest in the world by annual revenue) starts to get bigger and generate more velocity this news/issue of labor laws and unfair treatment of workers seems to rise. I wonder how this new news of Apple will affect their revenue and MPL and MPK.

  3. This will definitely be interesting to keep track of. I agree, if something happened to happen to Apple it would dramatically affect the technology sector of the market...then what would happen? It would be interesting to see what customers stay loyal and who decided to go with alternatives.

  4. If Apple were to get violating workers rights, then would this cause a huge hole in the economy? Could it lead the US to have an economy crisis?
On another note, as companies grow and expand they tend to get sloppier. There is a company called Theranos that I read a book about. It was about the company's CEO and the company itself. The CEO had an incredible idea in the medical field and she started to pitch the idea to power people. She raises millions of dollars and spent it to hire hundreds of workers and to expand more and more. As the company continued to grow, there were many cases of mistreatment and violation of rights. Ironically, the company never had a prototype or a product to sell to all the stores they teamed with so they eventually got shut down.

  5. I agree with Ashleigh, if these allegations towards Apple are true how will it affect the international economy since they have such a huge stake in it. They're also a huge leader in the tech sector and that being said I wonder how badly the tech sector will be affected.

  6. Apple is the biggest company in the world so it is definitely possible that if Apple were ever to suffer that the whole economy would be affected. However, I believe that it will take something much bigger than this to truly affect Apple.
