For the first time in a while, college graduates can be optimistic
about looking for a full time job after graduation. Although the future
strength of the economy is unclear, economists are upbeat about the future
graduates chances as well. For the first
time since the great recession the collegiate employment research institute
projects that hiring will be up 15% across all degree levels. On campuses
across the country they are seeing encouraging numbers of students
participating in recruiting events and career fairs. As a college student it is
good to see that the future job market is back on the rise and it is easier to
find a job. Hopefully it continues to do better and those with degrees are able
to start working right after graduation.

It is interesting to see in the article about the difference of unemployment for college graduates with job-specific majors, such as accounting and finance, than those with general-majors, such as geography and philosophy, and how close the predictions made by analyst match the upcoming graduating class over the next year.
ReplyDeleteThis article is interesting and is extremely relevant to all college kids. With all of the student debt some people suffer from, it will be nice to be able to secure a job right out of college and pay some of it off. It will be nice to see that these predictions turn out to be correct.
ReplyDeleteThis article is pretty interesting but this only focuses on the students who are US citizens. Being an international student, it is still hard for us to find jobs in the US since a lot of companies do not want to sponsor. The number of international students coming for higher education to US could reduce because of this reason.
