Thanksgiving weekend provides boost to Las Vegas Economy
So apparently the holidays went really well for the people living in Las Vegas. Many people spent money in this tourist city, which helps the struggling economy of Las Vegas. Outside of Detroit, Las Vegas may be the city experiencing the biggest impact from the poor economy. This is because it is a tourist city, and when people don't have money, they are not going to go spend money on vacation and gambling. So, the holidays were a big positive for the city of Las Vegas, as many people spent a lot of money, and showed that consumer confidence is increasing. It's still a long way back from where this economy is used to being, but Las Vegas has to be encouraged to what happened over the holidays.

I think that this is a very good sign. I feel that the economy is recovering faster than a lot of people thought one year ago.
