Trump's legal battle.

To the allegations of hush money, Trump submitted a not guilty plea. Donald Trump, the former president, has been charged with 34 felonies, including violating election laws and falsifying company documents. He is accused of paying Stormy Daniels a hush sum of money prior to the 2016 election. Daniels also alleges having an affair with him. Trump intends to run for president in the upcoming election and claims this is a democratic consipracy to interface his elections.

Although hush money payments are legal, the prosecutor claimed that Trump falsified his business's record and violated election laws by hiding the payments, which is against the law. If he is found guilty, each charge against him carries a four-year prison sentence.

This case may also have an effect on his chances of receiving the Republican presidential nominee and on his career in politics.

  1. Do you think that the Republican Party will choose Trump (being the former president) to take the ticket, or will they give it to DeSantis? I ask because while publicity can be bad, it may actually contribute to keeping his name in the press. Tell me what you think.

  2. It'll be interesting to see how this effects his presidential candidacy. Will it help it or hurt it? I personally think this will strengthen it as he will use it in a way of, "they are trying to stop us from taking office again." Which will really rally the republican party behind him.

  3. I've been hearing a lot about this stuff in the news. There were also the AI-generated photos of Trump being arrested, which looked pretty real. It is interesting to see the ways in which technology can be used for bad. Many people are worried about how AI could perpetuate distrust of information on the internet and in turn have impacts on things like elections and public opinion. Ultimately, these impacts could have real economic consequences as well.

  4. Trump receiving 34 felonies sounds a little crazy. But it's so hard to tell what to believe and what not to. It will be interesting to see how both sides will play this. Donald might use this as a positive to be completely honest.

  5. Can't see Trump spending even a second in a prison cell. It would appear that a certain amount of money makes you untouchable. But even more so, a certain type and size of following can make you definitely untouchable. It'll also be interesting to see what happens with the Republican nomination.
