We have all heard by now about the artificial intelligence chatbot platform, Chat GPT. It has been quite a revolutionary development in the AI industry, but what impacts does/will it have on our economy? Many fear that the program will replace some jobs or even industries. However, it opens doors to completely new industries. AI Chatbots can lead to improvements in sustainability, education, science, entrepreneurship, and personal finance.
It is unknown how large the effect will be, but it is undeniable that we will definitely see a change in our economy due to this technology. However, it is also important to make sure chatbots are used ethically and that any biases are eliminated from systems.

ReplyDeleteI have only heard rumors about this product and I honestly think it is quite scary. The introduction of having robots work on papers for you seems to be a negative thing. Is our generation so lazy that we must look forward to products like this in the future?
ReplyDeleteThe only issue with Chat GPT is that it has to take information from online, that information is normally from articles that writers or workers for newspaper companies write up. It takes human thought to put those words into an article. It will be interesting to see how the advancements in the AI field will turn out within the next decade.

ReplyDeleteI think it will definitely have an affect on the economy moving forward but I think it'll be in a positive and negative way. It could definitely take away jobs, but it could also be utilized to create jobs and help people do their jobs more efficiently, increase their productivity and then get paid as such. I think it becomes more important in the work force in the future to not only understand it but also be able to mold it to help you in the best way possible.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that Chat GPT will displace any jobs, but it will undoubtedly improve employee productivity. I recently read about a business that purchased ChatGPT pro subscriptions for its staff since it was assisting them in achieving business success.

ReplyDeleteI do not think that we can predict what will happen with AI. As was said in a comment above, at the moment it is only capable of reading articles written by humans and summarizing it down into a concise answer. But I read a book called Sythe and in this book there was an AI that could do more than that, it was good for the economy because it was able to accurately predict what actions would do to affect the economy. In the end, we are the creators of the AI and if we choose to use its ability to scrounge the internet in seconds, and to learn things from it and to predict what impacts an action could have I believe it will be a powerful resource.
